The
Mercy Ministry of Pinewood has fast become, through God's Grace, a
growing, dynamic force. We are able to assist financially, with
food products and in other ways, not only the members and
congregation of Pinewood who have occasional special needs, but also those with
needs from our community. We strive to have a people that attempt
great things for God and are actively pursuing the mission of Pinewood ----
Obeying the Great Commission. It is
the vision of the Mercy Ministry, through our "Community Assistance
Program," to make a great impact in the
With
our Financial Assistance, Food Pantry and other programs and
services, we have been able to meet many of the needs of the
disabled, the poor, the physically and mentally ill, the homeless, the jobless
and the underemployed of Our
intent is to help those in need while not creating
dependency. Therefore, we must assess needs in our community and
individuals and families. The
challenge we face is distinguishing between those that are truly in need and
those that would take advantage of what we have to offer. Obviously, we trust in the Lord to
direct us and must be willing to err in favor of mercy, knowing that our clients
may not be the world's most beautiful appearing persons, but that their souls
are beautiful in the sight of God and that it is "His" commandment that we love
them and help them in their times of need.
